Moheeb Al-Nawaty

Palestinian journalist and author al-Nawaty was detained in 2011 under unspecified “security reasons” while he was translating his book in Damascus. It was later reported that he was doing research for a book he was writing about Hamas. In 2013, the Norwegian government confirmed that he was in Syrian government custody. As of 2025, it is unclear if he remains detained incommunicado, and there is little to no information about his condition or whereabouts.
